Director Harris Shankar of Gabbar Singh fame saw the wild side of actor Charmi recently when the latter apparently slapped him when he tried to “act smart”.
Sources say that the director, who is starting a big budget film with Jr. NTR in January, had called Charmi to his office to discuss a role he had in mind for her. In the course of their discussions, he reportedly tried to misbehave with her, leading to a big argument. The no-nonsense Punjabi kudi in a fit of anger “slapped” the director before storming out of his office, sources say.
However, both Charmi and Shankar are reluctant to talk about the “ugly episode”. Responding to the reports of her slapping the director, she says, “I would like to say that I don’t want to discuss private matters in public.”
Meanwhile, Harris Shankar, who delivered back-to-back hits Mirapakai and Gabbar Singh, and is set for a hattrick with his next film with Jr. NTR, rubbishes the claim as a figment of imagination of a few websites. “These rumors are rubbish; nothing of that sort happened. A few newly-launched websites are trying to gain mileage through cheap and baseless reports. I don’t want to waste a minute on clarifying all this as I am busy with the pre-production of my film with Jr. NTR from January,” he said.
A leading producer who has made a few films with Charmi, meanwhile, says, “She is a no-nonsense girl and bold enough to teach anyone who tries to act smart with her, a lesson. I admire her if she has done it,” he says.
