Rana and Prabhas to play brothers in director Rajamouli's upcoming flick The script is being fine-tuned and it will go on floors in February 2013
It could be a casting coup of sorts for ace director S.S. Rajamouli if he manages to rope in Rana to play actor Prabhas' brother in his upcoming untitled film.
With superstar Venkatesh triggering the trend of multi-starrers with Seethama Vakitlo, it's now the turn of his nephew.
Although it will be Prabhas' film all the way, sources say that Rajamouli now wants to bring in another actor to give a fillip to the big-budget film.
They add that both actors will play characters with diametrically opposite views and will be almost positioned against each other. Billed as the costliest film in T-town with a budget estimate of `70 crore, the director is leav ing no stone unturned to make this periodic saga, set a few centuries ago, a sure-fire winner. “The script is being finetuned and it will go on the floors in February 2013. A lot of pre-production work is needed for this periodic saga and the director is a perfectionist. In all probability Prabhas and Rana will be playing brothers,“ says a source.
Producers Devineni Prasad & Co are teaming up with Rajamouli after a gap of a few years, after their earlier blockbuster Maryadarammanna.
The director has also set another precedent in Tollywood by agreeing to share the film's revenues instead of demanding a hefty pay cheque.
“He has agreed for a revenue sharing module for the bilingual -Telugu and Tamil film.
“After hits like Maghadeera and Eega, Rajamouli is a name to reckon with in Tamil Nadu,“ adds the source. However, producer Devineni Prasad does not want to confirm the casting coup or the budget.“Nothing is confirmed about casting and it's too early to talk about bud to talk about get; we are still working on it,“ he says.
